Projects

1) MASTER Project (2010-2011)

"JewelPUMP by DEBIOTECH S.A.: Insulin Temperature Measurement Study"

Abstract: Confidential (for more information, please contact me directly)

2) MINOR Project (2010)

"What i s the relative distribution of spinal subarachnoid space volumetric compliance in a healthy subject: segmentation, statistics and visualization"

Abstract: The aim of this project was to propose a new point of view on Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) compliance, present in the spinal cord, by using a specific novel 4D RMI sequence never performed before"

3) Translation Research in Life Sciences Project (2009)

“Food and Cognitive Enhancement: Innovative combination of a hypothetical natural acute compound as an alternative to psychotropic drugs and chronic natural compounds potentially enhancing cognitive performances”, presented at the EPFL, Lausanne 2009

Abstract: We propose a food product as an alternative to psychotropic drugs, potentially targeting the student population. This food product hypothetically contains a natural acute molecule X acting on the dopaminergic system. An increase of dopamine neurotransmitter in several brain areas was clearly linked with possible enhancement of attention/focus and memory. We propose a general strategy to identify the DAT as possible target and to validate the expected outcomes when acting on this transporter without causing possible side effects.

4) Stem Cells Project (2009)

“Beta cells can be generated from endogenous projenitors in injured pancreas of adult mice”, presented at the EPFL, Lausanne 2009

5) Bachelor Project (2009)

“The implications of Bcl9 and Bcl9-like genes in the metastatic potential of colon tumors”, presented at the EPFL, Lausanne 2009

Abstract: Bcl9 and Bcl9-like are two genes, which are more and more clearly implication in the invasive tumors. Indeed, the chip analysis showed a correlation between the malignant aspect of the colon tumors and the double knock-out of Bcl9/Bcl9-like (-/-). The laboratory now needs to create the tools that will experimentally confirm this previous observation. If it is confirmed, the discovery will have great importance since we will then have supplementary knowledge about the tumors and their mechanisms.

6) Nanotechnology Project (2008)

“Subdiffraction Imaging and Super-Resolution Microscopy: STED / STORM / PALM”, presented at the EPFL, Lausanne 2008

Publications / Awards

NCCR (National Centre of Competence in Research) Climate Talent Award (2004)
“La différence d’enneigement naturel pour la station touristique de Crans-Montana est-elle l’une des causes de l’apparition d’un réseau d’enneigement artificiel sur le domaine skiable (période 1978-1988 et 1989-2002)”, published in Alizés Edition, Fribourg 2004
